RCA supports, enables and empowers people with mental health issues who live in the Restormel area, to express their views, be heard and be listened to when in situations and environments where they may feel insecure, vulnerable or threatened. A Community Advocate is there to listen to what you want to say or do and then assist you to express yourself in circumstances where you find it difficult No one can guarantee the outcome of your issues or your treatment but an Advocate will endeavour to ensure you have a fair hearing. It can be hard to tell others of your concerns and feelings whilst using mental health services, visiting a GP, attending benefit tribunals, etc. An advocate can help you either by supporting you when you wish to voice your concerns and points of view, or by representing you if you feel unable to do so. RCA is independent of the statutory mental health or social services. We don’t tell you what to do or judge you. |
