but will become a new Community Interest Company known as

RURAL COMMUNITY LINK PROJECTS CIC

RCL’S VISION IS:
‘That everyone feels accepted, included, valued and has peace of mind’

RCL’S MISSION STATEMENT:
‘To promote mental well-being and encourage positive attitudes to
mental health issues in Restormel and where practical and possible,
all areas of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.’

RCL’S AIMS:

  • To support, encourage and enable people with mental health needs in order to reduce mental distress and feelings of isolation
  • To promote mental well-being and independent living
  • To provide support for staff and volunteers in all areas of their work
  • To raise awareness of and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness
  • To be as inclusive as possible in all aspects of our work
  • To make the project sustainable in the long term

RCL’S OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide a diverse range of support groups, in response to identified needs
  • To provide an Holistic Counselling Service for those suffering from mental health issues who do not qualify for statutory mental health services
  • To provide an Enablement Project to assist in rebuilding lives that have been affected by mental distress
  • To provide an Advocacy Service in order to empower individuals with mental health needs to speak up for themselves and be heard
  • To provide a good quality, wide ranging Information Base for service users, carers, professionals and the general public
  • To provide or access staff and volunteer training, regular supervision and opportunities to feedback as needed
  • To produce and promote 2 Newsletters/Magazines each year
  • To link in with national and local events which promote mental health
  • To have a co-ordinated fund raising strategy in place

RCLP was established in January 2001 with a 3 year grant
from the Community Fund (National Lottery)
